While descending the Mandalay Hills, I caught a snap of a couple.  This must be love because he was carrying her piggy back (not for long) so she didn’t have to walk the craggy steps in bare feet.

Yes, I have to walk the Mandalay Hills, up the eastern steps for about 100 m to the descending western steps, barefooted.  After the trek, I found out that there is an escalator that would take you to the summit.  I guess I have to return to Mandalay sometime in the future.

  1. Such a beautiful and emotional snapshot. He must love her very much, and looks like a love that will last 🙂 Good on you for climbing and descending Mandalay Hills barefoot. It sounds like a great place to visit. Escalator? I suppose that is to cater for those of us who can’t handle uphill and long treks very well. Thoughtful 🙂

    • It’s not so much the climbing which was rather pleasant, but it’s the craggy steps that would get you eventually. The escalator would get you up to Sutaungpyay Paya (the summit of the hills) then you can walk down.:)
