People like to stop and ask me one question, “why do you take pictures?” My standard answer is, “I would like to preserve the people and the beauty of the neighborhood.” Then I will ask them about the neighborhood and they would reply with a recount of the history. While they recall the reminisce about the years gone by, that is when I take their photos. Like this man, showing me his toothless smile.
