Charoen Krung Road is a major road in Bangkok, built during 1862–1864, which passes through Chinatown on through Bang Rak all the way to Bang Kho Laem, serving mostly the expat society during that era.  In the present day, many of the historical building sites along the road are facing drastic changes due to extension of the MRT underground train system.

Sala Chaloem Thani or the Nang Loeng Cinema, is the original wooden cinema in Thailand.  Built in 1918, the cinema showed films for over 75 years until it’s closing in 1993.  It’s a landmark in the city’s cultural tour due to it’s proximity to Nang Loeng Market.
